2 more sleeps

Yes, there are just two more sleeps to go before we set off on this epic adventure! Grizzly has already started his and is already ensconced in his Travelodge at Leigh Delamere. Not surprisingly he seems to have got the booking.com room even though it's not booking.com, i.e. miles away from reception.

I've done my last check on Ginny, her tyre pressures. You wouldn't think I'd need to having just had the tyres fitted last week but the front pressure was about 9 pounds under what it should be so I was right to check.

Packing is almost complete, apart from the everyday things that I'll be using before we set off on Wednesday, so I'm feeling pretty relaxed.

Looking forward to seeing Grizzly.

T-5

In 5 days time Grizzly and I will be on our way.

When I last wrote, I was about to download all my routes onto Tomtom. That's now done. I probably need to have a quick run through them all to make sure they all load up ok. Over the last few days I've started my packing in earnest. I always have a packing list so as not to miss anything and I'm about 90% of the way through it.

Ginny went to Ryders Motorcycles on Tuesday for some new tyres. As mentioned previously, those already fitted were in pretty good nick (only 2300 miles on them), I just wasn't sure they'd make it on this trip, so I had them changed. I've brought them home with me and will look to get them put back on at some point, maybe after my Aragon trip in September. With the cost of them, it would be foolish to just bin them, with so little wear. On the way back from Ryders, I got caught in a pretty heavy rain shower, so today I gave Ginny a wash to clean off all the muck and she now looks sparkly and new..ish again. The forecast looks decent for Wednesday so hopefully all my polishing won't be in vain. A tour usually starts with precipitation though, so we shall have to wait and see.

Grizzly will be leaving home on Monday and making his usual overnight stop at Leigh Delamere services on the M4. On Tuesday, I expect he'll get to Chatham around lunchtime. We have booked a table for our pre tour dinner at a pub up the road. They do a special seniors 2 courses for £4.99!, which I expect will be the cheapest meal we'll have over the time we're away AND it doesn't include pizza! 😉  Wednesday, we have an early start, as Eurotunnel now want you to check in a minimum of 1 hour before departure, whereas it used to be 30 minutes. Once on the other side, we're heading for Reims.

There may or may not be another post before the off but if you don't want to risk missing out on anything, then remember to sign up for email updates. It's simple enough to do, just fill in the section at the bottom left hand side of the blog. I promise you won't get unsolicited emails as a result, just regular updates on our travels.

That's all for now.
